Thursday, January 25, 2018 9:40am
Continuing the annual tradition of blockbuster rooftop performances attended by thousands in Seattle locations, Crème Tangerine will celebrate the anniversary of The Beatle’s legendary last performance famously known as “the rooftop concert.”
Crème Tangerine will bring the show to the Eastside and perform songs from that concert, and more, at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 on the rooftop balcony of the Livengood Alskog building, 121 Third Ave. in Kirkland.
Crème Tangerine’s all ages community performance can be viewed from downtown Kirkland’s Central Way and Lake Street shopping district street level for free. Fans can donate to support Hopelink’s mission to promote self- sufficiency for all members of the community and help people make lasting change.
Started in 2009 as a celebration in tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Beatles last concert, Crème Tangerine’s Beatles Rooftop Day, has become a destination each year on that anniversary weekend for northwest Beatles fans to celebrate the Fab Four’s influence on music throughout the world. The annual concert event has attracted local and international media attention as well as the endorsement by recording industry legend Ken Mansfield. Mansfield is the former U.S. President of the Beatle’s Apple Records label and was the only American on the roof with the Beatles at that last impromptu performance.
“It’s been so cool over the years to see streets packed shoulder to shoulder with people celebrating the music of The Beatles on the last weekend of January – this music truly is a common bond people share together,” said Tim Mushen, guitarist of Crème Tangerine.
David Alskog lead partner of Livengood Alskog law firm said, “We are honored to be hosting this show once again in Kirkland! We’re looking forward to showcasing this fun event for free to give people a reason to take a moment to rock out, smile, and have a little fun together on a winter weekend. We hope people will come out to the Downtown Kirkland area and enjoy it all!”
Crème Tangerine is a dynamic five piece band from Seattle that performs the music of The Beatles for thousands each year. Rather than focusing on the personalities or look of The Beatles, Crème Tangerine focuses on performing their beloved music live for all to enjoy. Besides their “Rooftop Concert” shows, their performances have included The Beatles’ most recognized hits as well as different eras of The Beatles music and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “the White Album” and “Abbey Road” in their entirety. Their high energy, quality performances appeal to those already familiar with and new to the music of The Beatles.
